This is the classic Andy Kaufman performance from Saturday Night Live in which Andy lip-syncs to the Mighty Mouse theme song. This stunning performance originally aired on NBC on October 11, 1975. At the time this aired, it seemed equally funny and bizarre. Now it seems less bizarre and much like a lot of the funny viral video clips on YouTube and other video sites today. Because of this I think of Andy Kaufman as the godfather of wacky viral videos that are weird, funny and make you laugh, but you’re not sure why.
